Services for Robert Calvin Sise, 89, of Thomasville, will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 10, 2012 at First Baptist Church Chapel. Rev. Dr. Milton C. Gardner and Rev. David Cook will officiate and internment will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Born February 22, 1923 in Knoxville, Tenn., he was the son of the late Annie Adkins Sise and Rem Carson Sise. On March 10, 1951 in Scottsboro, Al he married Lois Sise who survives. Mr. Sise was a veteran of the Marine Corps and served in World War II, he received a bachelor's degree from University of North Carolina and was president of South Georgia Natural Gas. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he was served as the Chairman of Deacons and was a past president of the Lions Club, the Kiwanis Club and the Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Sise served as a Georgia Representative from 1978-1979; served on the Thomas County Board of Commissioners for 6 years and served on the Georgia Children's Trust Fund. Also surviving are children, Betty Louise Collier and husband Clay of Thomasville, Robert Calvin Sise and wife Kellie of Macon; grandchildren, Elizabeth Marsinski and husband Ron, Jonathan Rutland and Katie Rutland, Jamie Collier and wife Kristin and Grant Collier and wife Corrie; great grandchildren, Laney Collier and Josiah Collier. He was preceded in death by brother, Ed Sise and sisters, Louise Sise, Sadie Sise Arnold, Ruth McCarter and Pauline Cole.
