Robert Henderson

Robert Lee Henderson, Sr., 73, of Thomasville, Georgia, died suddenly on Sunday, August 19, 2018. Born on February 12th, 1945, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, he was the son of the late Lee Everett Henderson and the late Lulu Ellis Henderson (Pyle). He was married to Candee Ferrera Henderson for 51 years. Bob worked as a Programmer/Analyst for 30 years, the last 17 with Flowers Foods. Bob was a sports fan. He particularly enjoyed fly fishing and baseball. He was a long time fan of the Miami Dolphins and St. Louis Cardinals, and more recently, the Atlanta Braves. He coached his son and countless other kids in youth baseball and soccer for many years with the YMCA, and spent nine years as a volunteer at the Thomas County Food Bank. Bob’s children and grandchildren will miss his sweet nicknames for them, the silly faces he made, the loving care he shared and his ever-present whistling that filled in the gaps. He is survived by his wife Candee of Thomasville, GA, daughter, Kristy Henderson Miller and husband Randy of Thomasville, GA, son, Robert Henderson and wife Ariane Stracke-Henderson of Amsterdam, Netherlands, grandchildren, Aubrey Miller, Allison Miller, and Teo Henderson, brother-in-law Skip Ferrera and his wife Bobbie of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and dear friends John DiMino and Nancy Hough of Tallahassee, Florida. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Friday, August 31, 2018 at Allen and Allen Funeral Home. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM Saturday, September 1st, 2018, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 211 N.
