Robert James Pollock

Services for Robert James Pollock of Thomasville are at 2:00PM today at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Keith Hill will officiate and interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Pollock died October 21, 2006 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born January 29, 1916 in Mitchell Co., GA he was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin Pollock and Lottie Holt Pollock Glover. On January 21, 1945 in Chicago, Ill he married Irene Dahlke Pollock who preceded him in death on October 21, 1996. Mr. Pollock was a retired instrument maker for Dickson Instruments. He was a WWII Veteran and served in the defense of the Aleutian Islands from 1941-1945 and was a member of Dellwood Baptist Church, in Mitchell Co. Survivors include sister, Ethelene Pollock Hornsby of Jacksonville, FL, brother, Roger Holt & Patricia Glover of Carrollton, VA; several nieces and nephews, special friends, Jerone and Pat Philyaw, W. B. and Dollie Allen and Lillian Mulvaney. A sister, Myrtle Cooper, preceded him in death. Memorials may be made to Lewis Hall Singletary Oncology Center, 116 Mimosa Drive, Thomasville, GA 31792.
