A celebration of the life of Robert Russell Jinright, Jr. will be held Monday, August 1, 2016 at 5:30PM at the Thomas County Historical Society. Russ passed away July 29, 2016 peacefully at home in Thomasville, GA. Born March 13, 1955 in Thomasville, he was the son of Betty Jinright and the late Robert Russell Jinright. Russ gave generously of his heart and time to family, friends and to many Thomasville organizations. He served on the board and volunteered weekly at Hands and Hearts for Horses, served on the board and was past president of Thomas County Historical Society and served on the board and volunteered many years with Thomasville Landmarks community preservation projects. Russ loved to travel. He shared many trips with family and friends. He even survived an earthquake in Greece. Russ was an avid reader. He enjoyed Thomasville History and helped the Thomas County Historical Society purchase a steam fire truck. Russ was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. Other survivors include sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Richard Altork of Monroe, NC, and Leiann and David Orr of Thomasville, GA, nieces and nephews, Leila Adams, Rachel Altork, Marcy Krenzin, Robert Altork, Daniel Altork, Russell Orr, Hannah Orr and Parker Orr. Memorials may be made to the Thomas County Historical Society for the renovation of the antique steam fire truck, P. O.
