Services for Robert L. Jackson, Jr. of Thomasville are at 2:00PM on Sunday, October 6, 2002 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. Rev. Burns Willis and Rev. Leigh Ann Raynor will officiate with interment in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Jackson died Friday at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born August 5, 1921 in Thomasville, he was the son of the late Robert Luthur & Gladys Collins Jackson. On February 6, 1946 in Washington, DC, he married Marie Ferguson Jackson who survives. Mr. Jackson was a Farmer, a member of Thomasville First United Methodist Church, Past President of the Farm Bureau and a veteran in the Navy during WWII. Other survivers include sons & daughters-in-law, Gary & Sandra Jackson, Randal & Cathy Jackson all of Albany, sons, Don Jackson of Tallahassee, Fl. Chris Jackson of Thomasville and daughter-in-law Vicki Jackson of Thomasville; sisters, Geraldine Vanlandingham of Thomasville, Norene Cooper of Port St. Joe, Fl., Maxine Walker of Macon, brother, Warren Jackson of Thomasville; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. The family will receive friends at Allen & Allen Funeral Home from 6-8PM on Saturday. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southwest Georgia, 818 Gordon Ave., Thomasville, GA 31799.
