Robert Lavon Mcginnis, Sr.

Services for Robert Lavon McGinnis, Sr., 56, of Thomasville, are at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. Interment is in Laurel Hill Cemetery on 14th Street. Mr. McGinnis died March 22, 2009 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Pallbearers are Daniel Smallwood, Jonathon Perkins, Chris Johnson, Donnie Joiner, Joshua Posey and Tommy Posey. Born September 15, 1952, in Pavo, he was the son of the late Robert Jean McGinnis and Belinda Posey, who survives. He was a member of the Union Gospel Holiness Church of God. Other survivors include children, Robert Lavon McGinnis, Jr. of Las Vegas, Nevada, Rehannan McGinnis of New Jersey, New Jersey, Kayla McGinnis of Newton, Ga., James Robert McGinnis of Butler, Ga., Rebecca May McGinnis of Newton, Ga. and Savanna Lace McGinnis of Thomasville; 13 grandchildren; nephew, Daniel Smallwood, Jr. of Meigs, Ga.; nieces, Jaime Palmer and Alisha Hudson both of Cairo, Ga. He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Diane Hudson.
