Robert E. Taliaferro, 64, of Boston passed away at his residence on June 27, 2020. The son of the late Bobby and Byronette (Cissa) Watkins Taliaferro, he was born on March 9, 1956 in Arlington, GA. He was survived by wife, June Barwick Taliaferro. Other survivors include sons, Jared Carter and his wife Ashley, Luke Carter and his wife Morgan, Nick Taliaferro and grandchildren, Sam Carter, Aubrey Carter, Hayes Carter, Axie Carter and Emerson Carter. Also surviving is a sister, Liz Blackburn and her husband Don, nieces, Sydni Barwick, Abi Barwick, nephews, Brad Blackburn, Colby Blackburn and brothers-in-law Hubert Barwick and wife Lisha and Randy Barwick and his wife Dara. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Heather Taliaferro. Most importantly in life, Robert was a devoted husband, father and grandfather (aka Pops). It was his grandchildren that especially brought him great light. Secondly, Robert loved baseball. He developed a love for the game at an early age, and the diamond remained one of his greatest passions throughout his life. Robert played school ball in Blakely and continued on at the collegiate level at Middle Georgia College. The game taught him about accountability and having a strong work ethic. It was these disciplines he then continued to instill to all those he coached over the years, ones that his former players still remember of him today and can continue to carry on. For him, the coaching went further than just inside the fence – Robert’s focus was molding boys into men.
