Funeral services for Robert Wendell Cooper, 78, of Pavo will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Antioch Baptist Church where he was a faithful member for over 45 years. Rev. Harold Thomaston, Rev. Sherman Hall and Rev. Billy Rogers will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be the deacons of Antioch Baptist Church and honorary pallbearers will be the Men's Senior Sunday School class. Mr. Cooper passed away March 16, 2012 at Camellia Gardens. Born October 14, 1933 in Brooks County, he was the son of the late Early Cooper and Mary Virginia Tudor Cooper Fallin who survives. On July 13, 1959 in Thomasville, he married Mary Ann Enfinger Cooper who also survives. He was a retired shipping foreman from Sunnyland Packing Co. and worked there for over 40 years. He often spoke fondly of the different friendships he made over the years. He was a former chairman of deacons and taught the Senior Men's Sunday School class for many years at Antioch. He especially enjoyed his visitation ministry and loved his church family very much. After retiring in 1997, Mr. Cooper delighted in spending time with his family whom he loved and adored. Mr. Cooper loved the outdoors and spent many hours tending his garden. It was always his joy to share what he grew with his neighbors and friends. Other survivors include his children, Lavon Cooper and wife Lynn of Moultrie, Wendell L. Cooper and wife Marcia, Virgil Cooper, Vance Cooper and wife Michelle all of Pavo, Kathy Cox and husband Don of Thomasville; grandchildren, Ashley Cooper, Shana and Ray Smith, Kyle and Randi Cooper, Felicia and John Burgess, Wesley and Angel Cooper, Benjamin and Sarah Cooper, Corey Cox, Madisen Cox, Seth Cox; great grandchildren, Aiden Wright Cooper, Katelyn Sellers, Ali Sellers, Bryce Parrott Cooper; sisters and brothers, Vivian Scarbury of Macon, Jean Greene of Valdosta, Dennis Cooper and Oweita of Albany, Linda Baggett of Pavo, Glenn Cooper of Thomasville, and brother-in-law Richard Fallin of Thomasville. He was preceded in death by a sister, Teresa Gibson. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m., Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the funeral home. Guests may sign the online register at www.allenfh.com .
