Memorial services for Robert William Boissiere, Sr. of Thomasville are at 1:00PM on Saturday, November 8, 2003 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C. Mr. Boissierre died October 31, 2003 at Hospitality Care Nursing Home. Born November 15, 1911 in Orleans, France he was the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Georges Boissiere. On Thanksgiving Day 1945 in Hagerstown, Maryland he married Madeline Diffendall Boissiere who preceded him in death. Mr. Boissiere was a member of the OSS Office of Strategic Services during World War II and retired from the United States Air Force serving from 1952-1965. He received 2 master degrees from FSU, was a member of the Foreign legion, VFW, spoke 9 languages, wrote an award winning fiction while serving in the military, and was a prize winning sculpture and wood carver while living in Hawaii. He was a French and Spanish teacher at Brookwood School. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert William Boissiere, Jr. and Jenny Boissiere; granddaughters, Gabrielle Boissiere and Madeline Boissiere all of Tallahassee.
