Rodney Lamar Braswell, of Thomasville, GA passed away on December 31, 2019 in Three Rivers, TX at the age of 71, doing what he loved. Graveside services will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday January 11, 2020 in Laurel Hill Cemetery on 13th St. with Rev. Steve Wooten officiating. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening January 10, 2020 from 5:00-7:00PM. He was born on February 7, 1948 in Homestead, FL. He is survived by 4 children, Jason Braswell (Annemarie) of Watkinsville, GA, Brad Braswell, (Amy) of Thomasville, Molly Dickens of Thomasville, and Lauren Braswell of Thomasville and 9 grandchildren, many dear cousins and lifelong friends. Rodney is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Braswell and Eleanor Sullivan Braswell, and his wife of 38 years, Sarah Bellamy Braswell. They were married on June 15, 1968, in Thomasville.
Rodney retired in 2009 from Southern Regional Technical College as a drafting instructor of more than 40 years. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and traveling with his special love, Sue Johnson. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish, and loved to travel and see the world.
He will be remembered fondly by his grandchildren for many life lessons, hunting and fishing tips, long rides in the woods, and being the best PawPaw in history.
