Services for Ronald Eugene Shank of Thomasville are at 10:00AM, Friday, September 22, 2006 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. Rabbi Jack Romberg will officiate and interment will be in B?nai Israel Cemetery. Mr. Shank died Sept. 20 at his residence. Born November 1, 1946 in Luray, VA he was the son of the late Charles and Susan Glover Shank. On October 21, 1973 in Tallahassee, Fl he married Elaine Schlesinger Shank who survives. They were married for 32 years. Mr. Shank was a social worker for Southwestern State Hospital for 30 years and a member of B?nai Israel Synagogue in Thomasville. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving from 1964-1967 and graduated from Florida State University in 1973 with a B. S. in social work and in 1974 with a Masters in social work. He was a volunteer with the Boston Fire Department, founding member of Thomasville On Stage and Company, member of Pecan Region Car Club, Tallahassee Streetrodders and South Georgia Classic Car Club. Other survivors include his children, Zachary Shank and Haley Shank of Thomasville, sisters, Carol Sue Shank of Thomasville, Nancy Bright of Ft. Pierce, FL, brother, John Wayne Shank of Largo, FL, sister, Cheryl Showe and brother, Steve Shank both of Hagerstown, Maryland and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Charles Shank, preceded him in death. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Southwest Georgia, 818 Gordon Ave., Thomasville, GA 31792 or to Thomasville On Stage and Company.
