Services for Ronald Jefferson Helton of Metcalfe are at 2:00PM on Thursday, June 19, 2003 at Metcalfe Friendship Baptist Church where he was a member. The Rev. Charles Parker will officate and interment will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Helton died June 17, 2003 at his residence. Born May 23, 1931 in Grady Co., Ga., he was the son of the late Clay Henry and Agnes Sutton Helton. On November 10, 1951 in Las Cruz, N.M., he married Bessie Mae Hicks Helton who survives. He was an Air Force Veteran retiring after 22 1/2 years. He worked for Jameson Bedding in AlbanY for 10 years and worked for Thomasville Home Furnishings. Other survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Lavon Boyd of Albany, GA., Tina and Danny Duncan of Sylvester, Ga., grandchildren, Stephanie and Malinda Boyd, Nicholas Duncan and Andrea McDole; great grandchild, Thomas Gerald McDole; brothers, Walter C. Helton of Metcalfe and Roy Helton of Boston, GA. He was preceded in death by a son Gerald Allen Helton. The family will receive friends from 7-9PM on Wednesday.
