Ronald Roy Spooner passed away July 23, 2026, at his home following a difficult battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Barwick, Georgia, February 19, 1938, to Bronnie Upton Spooner and Willie Roy Spooner. He graduated from Pavo High School in 1957 and lived his entire life in Thomas County. He married Kate O’Neal on September 19, 1959, and served six years in the Army National Guard. He had a long career with Keenan Auto Parts Co., eventually becoming store manager. In 1983, he and his wife Kate opened Spooner Auto Parts. After several years, they sold the business, and he started a storage unit business that he continued to operate until the time of his death.

Ronald was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather (“Dedaddy” as he was known).

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Kate, and his older sister, Marjory Pearson.

He is survived by his daughter, Theresa Rambo (Wayne), granddaughters Madison Kate and Laura-Paige Rambo, his younger sister, Delores Anderson and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to recognize and thank Archbold Hospice, hospice nurse Jill Abgott, and caregiver Mrs. Connie Gay.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at 2 PM on Oklahoma Street in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Reverend Whit Byrom will be officiating.
