Ronnie Ladon Smith

Ronnie Ladon Smith, 78 of Thomasville, passed away on May 25, 2026. Ronnie was born on September 14, 1947, in Dothan, Alabama, to the late William Lidge Smith and Ruby Jane Barfield Smith.

A retired truck driver, Ronnie dedicated over 33 years of service to the U.S. Postal Service. His work was not just a job; it was a testament to his strong work ethic and commitment to supporting his family. Known for his sense of humor, he had a unique ability to bring joy to those around him. Ronnie loved nothing more than spending time with his family, fishing, and tinkering with old cars. His willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.

Survivors include his children, William Tommy Smith (Julie) of Coolidge, Sherry Hargraves (Randall) of Thomasville, Robert Eunice (Terri) of Thomasville, Teresa Hutchinson (Stevie) of Hahira, and Sabrina Bruce (David) of Chattanooga; siblings Gene Smith of Thomasville and Margie Ann Little of Boston; grandchildren Joshua Smith, Makenzie Smith, Kelly Thomas, Brooks Halley, John Halley, Anthony Halley, Matthew Halley, Makayla Pickett, Dewayne Eunice, and Crystal Clements followed by numerous great-grandchildren.Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents, William Lidge Smith and Ruby Jane Barfield Smith, and siblings June Elaine Smith, Martha Jan Rogers, and William Kenneth Smith.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 3 pm at Laurel Hill Cemetery with pastor Ricky McLaughlin officiating. 

Ronnie leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and generosity. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and all who were fortunate enough to call him a friend.
