Rose Mary Sheppard Self age 63 passed peacefully at her home October 4.
Always fighting for the underdog and teaching others the same, she was a very strong woman. A free spirit who loved tie dye, flowers in her hair, hippie vibes and her friends and family. She served Textron/TECT as a Machine Mechanic and supervisor for 27 years.
Born in Thomasville to Malcolm and Mary Sheppard, she is survived by her son Joseph Chambers, Jr. of Cairo; daughter Cairon Reagan (Tom) of Chattanooga, Tn; brother William Dewey Sheppard and sisters Jean Marshall (Ed), Nora Darus (Dennis) all of Cairo; granddaughters Posey Rose & Pepper Anne Reagan and a host of nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jerry and George Sheppard and sister Virdie Ann Glover.
According to her wishes, friends and family will gather for grill out and bonfire October 30 in Cairo. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Gulf Specimen Marine Lab & Aquarium, 222 Clark Dr, Panacea, FL 32346.
