Funeral services for Rosie Mae Creel, 90, of Coolidge will be at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Pastor Ken Burgess will officiate and interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Creel died on January 7, 2018 at her residence. Born January 24, 1927 in Clayton, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Spurgeon and Bama Williams Phillips. She was married to the late Marion B. Creel. Mrs. Creel was a homemaker who loved the Game Show Network and reading. Survivors include her children, JoAnn Hughes of Boston, Josephine Newsome of Pavo, Gerald Creel and his wife Judy of Thomasville, Jerry Creel and his wife Marty of Coolidge and Gary Creel of Coolidge. Other survivors include grandchildren, Junior McMullen, Michelle Yarbrough Welch, Jody McMullen, Johnny McMullen, Sammy Newsome, Josh Creel, Gini Creel Billingsley, Chasity Craven Henson, Jessica Creel Thomas and Katie Creel Long. Also surviving are a sister Velma Jean Hall of Phenix City, Alabama, 24 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Creel was affectionately known by many others as Granny. She was preceded in death by her parents, Spurgeon and Bama Phillips, her husband Marion B. Creel, a son, Lester Creel, sisters, Mary Alice Jones, Inez Carmichael, Diane Shiver and brothers, Shelley Phillips, Charlie Phillips and James Ray Phillips. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 to 7 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers her family ask that donations be made to a charity of your choice.
