Services for Ruby Louise Hicks of Thomasville are at 11:00AM on Friday, September 16, 2005 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Ray Parker and Fred Colson will officiate and interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are William Hubert Hicks, II, Donald William Stewart, Capt. James Tate Hicks, Capt, Michael Drew Hicks, Pfc., William Cecil Stewart and Brian Keith Miller. Mrs. Hicks died September 13, 2005 at her residence. Born September 9, 1915 in Grady Co., GA she was the daughter of the late William Martin and Eliza Jane Gainous Vick. On August 16, 1940 she married William H. Hicks who preceded her in death. Mrs. Hicks was a member of Springhill Christian Church. She was a homemaker, worked in the lunchroom for the city school system and at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Her biggest attributes were her heart and her green thumb! Everything and everyone under her care blossomed and bloomed. She lover her family ?big? and is loved ?big? in return. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Jimmy Stewart of Thomasville, son, Billy Joe Hicks of St. George Island, FL, son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Terri Hicks of Buford, GA; grandchildren, Stephanie Thetford, Dana Stewart Miller, Donald William Stewart, William Cecil Stewart, Kelly Whidby Stoenica, Spec. William Hubert Hicks, II, Captain James Tate Hicks, Michael Drew Hicks; 16 great grandchildren; brother, Rupert Vick of Pine Park, GA and sister, Rosa Brinson of Ochlocknee. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Reubin Vick and sister, Rossie Jane Vick Harrison. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9PM on Thursday.
