Ruby Mcneil Weeks

May 22, 1921 — December 20, 2011

Services for Ruby McNeil Weeks, 90, of Ochlocknee are 11 am, Friday, December 23, 2011 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home. Rev. Dennis Norman will officiate and interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Born May 22, 1921 in Coolidge, she was the daughter of the late Margaret Augustus McNeil and Alma Cornelia Simpson. She was married to Dewey Gerald Buddy Weeks who preceded her in death. Ruby was a loving mother and doting grandmother who lived to see five generations of her family. She was a faithful Christian and was feared by every fish on the St. Johns River. She was a woman of contradictions; she didn't like to travel but went with her family to Japan, Spain and Venezuela; she didn't have much formal education but very few could match her prowess with a crossword puzzle; she loved to shop for bargains but could not say "no" to someone needing financial help. Ruby was humble, intelligent, stubborn and a hard worker all her life. She has earned her rest and was ready to join Buddy when she passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon. She was a member of Ochlocknee Baptist Church, a member of American Legion Auxiliary, a member of the Ochlocknee Civic Club and a member of the Woman's Club at the Army Base. She is survived by her children, Bill Bozeman and wife Peggy of Lilburn, Ga, Phillip G. Weeks and wife Joanne of Ochlocknee, Michael Weeks and wife Mari of Roswell, Deborah J. Norris and husband Clay Buzzy of St. Cloud, Fl; daughter-in-law, Barbara Weeks of Cairo; grandchildren, Degi Bozeman, Neal Bozeman, Richard Bozeman and wife Lynn, Ryan Weeks Harold, Mateo Weeks, Dennis Weaver, Admiral Dewey Weeks, II; great grandchildren, Parker Harold, Christen Bozeman, Brandon Bozeman, Ashley Bozeman, Nicole Bozeman, Jonathan Bozeman, Haley Bozeman, Spencer Norris, Kylie Weaver; great great grandchildren, Hunter Jones and Jaelyn Bozeman; sister-in-law, Genita Mills of Ochlocknee and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son, Allan Weeks and grandsons, Chad Wilson and Phillip G. Weeks, Jr. Memorials may be made to Ochlocknee Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 69, Ochlocknee, Ga 31773, or American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1201, Albany, Ga 31702 or Hospice of Southwest Georgia, 114 A Mimosa Dr, Thomasville, Ga 31792.
