Mrs. Johnetta Ruth Lytle Ament died at the age of 94 on July 21, 2010, at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born March 24, 1916, in Apollo, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Ella and John Lytle, who preceded her in death. She graduated from Apollo High School and attended business school. She worked as a secretary and later as a medical transcriber. In 1942, she married the late Vernon N. Ament. After World War II, they moved to Alexandria, Virginia. Mrs. Ament worked for the Fifth Marine Division Association. The Aments moved to Florida upon their retirement in 1970. There they lived in Port Malabar and then in Vero Beach. While in Vero Beach, Mrs. Ament loved to play golf and she and her late husband volunteered for the Indian River Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for 27 years. The Aments had one son, John Gary Ament, who preceded them in death. Mrs. Ament is survived by her daughter-in-law, Judy Ament of Thomasville, Georgia, her granddaughter, Jennifer Ament Jordan, also of Thomasville, her grandson, Jonathan Ament of Brooklyn, New York, and her two great grandsons, David Lee Jordan and Jacob Jordan of Thomasville. Mrs. Ament moved to Thomasville in January of 2010 and lived at Plantation Manor. Her sweet and happy manner endeared her to all who knew her. Her body has been cremated and a celebration of her life will be held in Thomasville at Plantation Manor on August 4th at 4:00. At a later date, a memorial service will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Vero Beach, Florida, where she was a member. Memorials may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church in Vero Beach.
