Ruth Bennett Clifton

Services for Ruth Bennett Clifton of Thomasville are Thursday, May 5, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Pineland Baptist Church. Interment will be at Laurel Hill. Mrs. Clifton died, Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at Archbold Hospital. Born June 28, 1930 in Bibb County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Leroy and Adele Etheridge Bennett. Mrs. Clifton was an elementary school teacher at Jerger School, and a member of Pineland Baptist Church where she was involved in WMU. She also volunteered at personal care homes and nursing homes. She enjoyed cooking, feeding family and friends, and loved children. On July 29, 1954 in Warner Robins, GA she married James Thomas Clifton, Sr. who survives. Other survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Donna & Martin Champion of Thomasville, Melissa & Walt Pinder of Jesup, Ga., daughter, Carolyn Clifton of Thomasville, son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Maggie F. Clifton of Pelham, sister, Elsie Brown of Warner Robins, GA, brothers, Charles Bennett of Warner Robins, Billy Bennett of Macon, GA, Warren Bennett of Halstead, Kansas, grandchildren, Jessica Vidal, Heather Brinkley, Brittany Baggett, Erin Spiceland, Allison Pinder, Kerri Pinder, Anne Clifton, Clara Clifton, four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A sister Charlotte Holloway preceded her in death. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8PM on Wednesday. Visitors may sign the online guest register at www.allenfh.com .
