Ruth Clay went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 17, 2024 at the age of 80. Born November 2, 1943 in Pavo, Georgia. She was the daughter of J.B. NeSmith and Vera Howell NeSmith. Ruth graduated from Central High School in 1961. She married Henry Clay on May 20, 1965. She worked at Southern Bell, K-mart and Snider Tire. Ruth spent her most recent years crocheting, working puzzles, reading lots of books and tending to her flowers and plants. She also spent afternoons taking a ride on her golf cart around the farm. She loved her daughters Alanna (Michael) Suber and Michel (Jon) Turner, her grandchildren Natalie (Frank) Burton, Jessica (Jonathan) Mobley, Kaitlyn (Clay) Sellers, Kailey Turner, Clay Turner, and her great-grandchildren Clayton Sellers, Honey Kate Sellers, Hollyn Sellers, Bonnie Burton, Hallie Burton and Winnie Mobley. She is survived by her sisters, Sharyn (David) NeSmith Sherman and June NeSmith, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother John Larry NeSmith.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday February 20, 2024 in Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Colquitt Christian Academy and/or The Treehouse (CAC).
