Graveside services for Ruth Hardee Parker, 87, of Lake City, FL are 2:00 pm, Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at Laurel Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Hugh Rockett officiating. Mrs. Parker died at The Health Center of Lake City, Lake City, FL on April 8, 2007. Born October 23, 1919 in Mitchell County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late George W. & Sarah Hardee. On October 5, 1946 in Thomasville, Georgia she married John Charles Parker, who precedes her in death. Mrs. Parker was a graduate of Thomasville High School. She was a dental assistant, and was also employed by the Thomas County Chapter of the American Red Cross and the First Baptist Church of Thomasville. Survivors include son: John W. Parker Nancy of Gainesville, FL; daughter Sara P. Coleman of Gainesville, GA; sister Mary Nicholson of Tallahassee, FL; brother George Hardee of Folsom, LA; three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A sister, Margaret Hardee, brother, Thomas Hardee and grandson John W. Parker III, preceded her in death. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm at the Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
