Memorial services for Ruth Kinney Herndon of Thomasville are at 11:00AM on Friday, August 18, 2006 at Salem Baptist Church. The Rev. Chris Lodge will officiate and interment will be in Salem Cemetery. Mrs. Herndon died August 15 at Plantation Manor. Born February 18, 1932 in Toccoa, GA she was the daughter of the late Emory and Woodie Young Kinney. She was the owner of Herndon Drug Store in Thomasville, GA. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Angie Herndon of Moultrie, GA, daughter, Anne Herndon of Spokane, WA, daughter and son-in-law, Jeanie and Shelton Smith of Hahira, GA, son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Jill Herndon of Pavo, GA, daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Allen Baker of Coolidge, GA; fourteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Joe Grant of Ormond Beach, FL and sister, Julia Massey of Hartwell, GA. A brother, Ray Kinney, preceded her in death.
