Services for Ruth Phelps Billingsley, 91 of Thomasville will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Steve Wooten will officiate and interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Billingsley passed away April 28 at Archbold Hospital. Born June 20, 1921 in Thomasville; she was the daughter of the late Samuel Dewey Phelps and Rosa Brinson Phelps. She was married to Joseph H. Billingsley, Sr who preceded her in death. She was a member of Gatlin Greek Baptist Church and worked in food service for Central High School. She is survived by her children, Joseph H. Billingsley, Jr and wife Judy of Thomasville, Joan B. Hawkins, Richlands, NC and Samuel Walter Billingsley of Thomasville; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, Samuel W. Phelps, Clifford Phelps and sister, Mozell Williams all of Thomasville. She was preceded in death by brother, Dewey Phelps; sister, Vernal Hudson and son-in-law, John Hawkins.
