Ruth Quarles Langston

Graveside services for Ruth Quarles Langston of Thomasville are at 2:00PM on Monday, March 27, 2006 at Salem Cemetery. The Rev. Dan Spencer will officiate. Mrs. Langston died March 24 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born July 5, 1927 in Chatsworth, GA she was the daughter of the late Morgan and Sibyl Dunn Quarles. On April 13, 1952 in Dalton, GA she married Carl Edward Langston who preceded her in death. Mrs. Langston was a member of First Baptist Church. Mrs. Langston?s teaching career began in Pavo, GA in 1949 and ended in 1984 after many years at Balfour Elementary School. She was active in her local and state professional organizations. Dedicated to sharing her love of God through music service, she was a devoted choir member in every church she attended and was called to lead choirs for children and adults at Dawson St., Fredonia, and Pineland Baptist Churches. Survivors include son, Cary Edward Langston of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, daughter and son-in-law, Karlan Ruth and John Joseph Holik of Thomasville and granddaughters, Sarah Elizabeth Holik and Jane Ellen Holik of Thomasville. Memorial may be made to the Gideons International, P.O. Box 2361, Thomasville, GA 31799. The family will receive friends from 3-5PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
