Memorial services for Sara Jones Speigner of Thomasville are at 2:00PM Thursday, May 5, 2005 at Gatlin Creek Baptist Church where she was a member. Rev. Dr. Don Prevatt will officiate and interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers are Kendall Jones, Kerry Jones, Jim Stewart, Jeff Stewart, Bert Browning, Thomas Speigner, Todd Taylor, Erik Speigner and Levale Speigner. Mrs. Speigner died May 2, 2005 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born January 20, 1921 in Grady Co., GA she was the daughter of the late Elisha and Maggie Mae Fulford Jones. On August 28, 1953 in Thomasville she married Julius R. Speigner who survives. Mrs. Speigner was a former operator at Southen Bell, supervisor at Warner?s, manager at Gilberg?s Fabrics, housewife and caterer. She was a member of the Woman?s Missionary Union and Gatlin Creek Baptist Women?s Sunday School. Other survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Anne Speigner Willingham and Charles Willingham, daughter, Sue Speigner Keith all of Thomasville, granddaughter, Julia Willingham of Valdosta, GA, grandson, Joe Willingham of Thomasville; sister, Annette Stewart of Thomasville and brother, Lewis Jones, Tallahassee, FL. Sisters, Neta Mae Thigpen, Goldie Ellen Dixon and Louise Helms, preceded her in death. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Gatlin Creek Baptist Church Playground Fund, 2031 Gatlin Creek Rd., Thomasville, GA 31757 The family will receive friends at Gatlin Creek Baptist Church from 1:00PM until service time.
