Sara "Marie" Braddy
Graveside services for Sara "Marie" Braddy, 93, of Thomasville, are at 10 a.m., Thursday, September 10, 2009, in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Braddy passed quietly in her sleep Sunday, Sept. 6 at Camellia Gardens. Born Jan. 20, 1916, in Booneville, Miss., she was the daughter of the late Prentiss and Mattie Miller. On April 19, 1942, she married the love of her life, Robert L. Braddy, and gave him 67 years of love and devotion. She was a graduate of Boston High School and Valdosta College for Women. Marie was a great athlete, playing basketball and tennis at Boston High and Valdosta College. She also loved horseback riding and camping. She was a beloved wife, mother grandmother, great-grand mother and world's best mother-in-law. Marie's sparkling blue eyes, love of laughter, instant smile, warm hugs, unconditional love and support for everyone in her family will be missed. Hands down, everyone agrees, she undoubtedly made the best banana pudding ever! A member of First Baptist Church, Marie served many years as church librarian, secretary to the minister of education, and taught Sunday school. Marie said she enjoyed teaching young adults Sunday school because she loved to hear the young people's opinions. After retirement from Social Security Administration, Marie enjoyed RV'ing with her husband, visiting every state and Canada. She enjoyed laughing about the many times they got lost during their travels and all the interesting places and people they encountered. Survivors include her loving husband of 67 years, Robert L. Braddy of Thomasville; daughter, Jennifer Marie Braddy Frost of Dillard; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Miller, Sr. and Julia Trawick Braddy of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; grandsons, Charles Robert Frost III of Savannah; Adam Miller Frost of Denver, Colorado and Robert Miller Braddy, Jr. of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; great-grandsons, Joshua Frost and Jonah Frost both of Savannah and Cannon Miller Frost of Denver, Colorado; great-granddaughter, Christa Braddy of Gulf Breeze, Fla.
