Sarah Penland Thomas

Sarah Penland Thomas, 85, of Thomasville passed away November 29, 2012 at Camellia Gardens. Born August 16, 1927 in Statesville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Leo LaVinka and Edna Huffman LaVinka. She was married to James Thomas who preceded her in death. Ms. Thomas was retired from the State of Florida as a supervisor with the Unemployment Compensation Department. She was a member of 1st United Methodist Church and the Garden Club. She is survived by her son, George Chick and wife Terri of Thomasville; grandchildren, Kevin Chick and Austin Chick; brother, Leo LaVinka and wife Elsie of Clermont, Ga; sisters, Helen Money of Statesville, NC and Lois Bredewater and husband Arnold of New Braunfels, TX.
