Funeral services for Sarah Elizabeth Thrasher Dodd, 82, will be held Tuesday at 1:00 PM at Barwick United Methodist Church. The Revs. Kirk Beckham and Doug Harvey will officiate and interment will follow for family members at Rosewood Cemetery in Barwick.

Mrs. Dodd died Sunday at her Barwick residence where she lived her entire life. Born March 9, 1927 in Barwick, she was the daughter of the late West Roundtree Thrasher and Sallie Lee Talley Thrasher. Her love of nature was evident by her flourishing gardens and devotion to animals but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her kindness touched many lives. She was a homemaker and member of Barwick United Methodist Church. She leaves a legacy of honesty, integrity, kindness and love of family.

She was married to Fred Thomas Dodd who preceded her in death. Survivors include daughter Patricia Dodd Hastings of Barwick, daughter Deborah Dodd Squires and husband James Squires of St. Simons Island, and son Tommy Dodd and wife Nancy of Atlanta. Other survivors include her grandchildren Tallie and husband Tye Pipkin, Jennifer and husband H.R. Price, Anna Lee and husband Kris Griffis and Olivia Dodd. She was loved by great grandchildren Emily Hastings, Cole Griffis, Logan Griffis, Clayton Griffis, Thomas Pipkin, Sarah Baker Pipkin, and Hollie Elizabeth Price as well as nieces and their families Kaye Dodd and husband Bill Cooper of Daytona Beach, Fl and Carol Dodd and husband Bob Jordan of McDonough. She is also survived by sister-in-law Ada Francis Dodd of Quitman.

The family will receive friends at the Allen and Allen Funeral Home in Thomasville on Monday from 6-8 PM. Memorials can be made to the Barwick United Methodist Church; P.O.Box 585; Barwick, GA 31720. Friends may sign the online guest register at www.allenfh.com .
