Services for Sheila Christine Chris Garner Powers, 56, of Thomasville are at 11a.m., Saturday, September 29, 2007 at First Baptist Church. The Rev. John Rainey and Ricky Skipper will officiate and interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Active Pallbearers will be Josh Clements, Adam Haire, Trey Mills, Cole Parrish, Billy Pilcher, Corey Sumner, Joe Willinghan and Maurice Parramore. Mrs. Powers died September 26 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born March 27, 1951, in Marlboro County, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Woodrow William Garner and Margaret Polston Garner Rowe who survives. She was married for 37 years to Dan Powers who survives. She was a member of Morningside Methodist Church and was a wholesale partner for DDP. Other survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Dee Powers and Jason Brinson of Thomasville, who are expecting her first grandchild; son and fiancé, Danny Powers and Meredith Moore of Thomasville; brother, George Wayne Garner of McColl, S.C.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Peggy and Charles Webster of McColl, S.C., Linda and Richard Quick of Bennettsville, S.C. and Debbie and Ricky Skipper of Bennettsville, S.C.; sisters, Connie Kempski of Columbia, S.C. and Brenda Fowler of Blenheim, S.C.; mother-in-law, Florence Powers of Thomasville; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ruby and Russell Tinsley, Linda and David Poss, Norma and James Judd and Helen and Gary Skipper all of Thomasville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Donnie and Barbara Powers and Wendell and Denise Powers all of Ochlocknee; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Reedy and Loney Oxendine Polston; and paternal grandparents, George and Mamie Spears Garner. Memorials may be made to the Lewis Hall Singletary Oncology Center, 116 Mimosa Drive, Thomasville, GA. 31792.
