Shelton Kimbell Chastain

Services for Shelton Kimbell Chastain, 90 of Thomasville will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at First Baptist Church. Rev. Marty Carnes will officiate and interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Chastain passed away October 22 at Archbold Hospital. Born July 10, 1927 in Thomasville, he was the son of the late Shelton Davis Chastain and Marie Kimbell Chastain. On August 29, 1954 he married Mary Alexis Ham, who preceded him in death. Mr. Chastain was retired from F& W Farm Supply and was a member of First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was an active member and cornerstone of the Thomasville YMCA and will be truly missed. He was an avid biking enthusiast and completed 40 mile rides at 90 years old. He was a loving father and grandfather and he loved to fish. He is survived by his daughters, Melody Chastain Lloyd and husband Terry of Loganville, Kim Chastain Bauman and husband Fred of Orlando, Florida and Tina Chastain Bates and husband Paul of Thomasville; grandchildren, Jenna Lloyd Reid and husband Charlie, Nic Lloyd and wife Kat, Mary Melissa Bauman Daugherty and husband Chris, John Richards, Jr and wife Renee and Paige Richards; great-grandchildren, Wren Reid, Robinson Reid and Thomas Daugherty; brother, Charles Chastain and wife Judy of Stone Mountain. He was preceded in death by sister, Connie Chastain Knight. The family will receive friends 6-8pm, Tuesday at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
