Shirley Ann Gray (Green-Clark, Kniss, Curtis), a petite woman with the heart and spirit of a giant, passed away peacefully in Tallahassee, Florida at the age of 86. Born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on March 9, 1940, to Gladys and James Barney Clark, Shirley was a woman of immense resilience and capability that lived life to its fullest. No one that met her will ever forget her.

​​Shirley is survived by her sister Darlene Sigafoo of Birmingham, AL, children: Charles "Frank" Gray Jr. of Lucedale, MS, Ronald Gray of Charlotte, NC, Kevin (Donna Singletary) Gray of Tallahassee, FL, Rebecca (John) Pendleton of Paw Paw, MI, and Joseph (Paula) Gray of Lawton, MI. 16 step children, 9 foster children, 69 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and numerous friends and extended family.

Waiting for her, and accepted to heaven are her parents, Husbands: Charles Gray, Robert Kniss, and Robert Curtis, all from Lawton, MI, childhood sweetheart and last love Dewey Nelson of Tullahoma, TN, sisters Gloria Dean (Williams) and Doris Clark, two children, Robert Dean Gray, and Shirley Charlene Small.

​A woman who did not just survive but truly lived, Shirley will be remembered for her grace, her legendary spirit, and the boundless love she poured into her family.

At the request of the family, cremation has taken place and a service will be held in her hometown of Lawton, MI at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in her name to your local hospice or favorite charity.
