Services for Shirley Griffin Carroll of Coolidge are at 11:00AM on Saturday, February 14, 2004 at First Baptist Church Chapel. Rev. Harold Pullen will officiate and interment will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are Cameron Carroll, Tyler Carroll, Bryce Carroll, Matthew Burgess, Cole Burgess and Cody Owens. Honorary pallbearers are Adam Owens, Nicholas Williams, Sam Williams and Lee King. Mrs. Carroll died February 10, 2004 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born February 7, 1934 in Cairo, GA. she was the daughter of the late Floyd S. and Ethel D. Griffin. On June 14, 1952 in Thomasville she married J. T. Carroll who survives. She retired after 21 years from the office of Dr. J. L. Story and Dr. James E. Smith where she was office manager. She was a member of Big Ochlocknee Baptist Church and was chairman of the church kitchen committee. She was in charge of Home Missions and was a substitute Sunday School teacher. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Judy Carroll of Thomasville, daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and Johnny King of Coolidge, Robin and Tony Owens of Boston, Sharon and Marty Williams of Thomasville, bonus daughter, Kathy Kelley, brother and sister-in-law, Floyd S., Jr. and Laharon Griffin of Navarre, Fl., sister and brother-in-law, Florene G. and Ed Baldwin of Apple Valley, Calif.; grandsons, Cameron Carroll, Tyler Carroll, Bryce Carroll of Thomasville, Matthew Burgess, Cole Burgess of Coolidge, Cody Owens, Adam Owens of Boston, Nicholas Williams, Sam Williams of Thomasville, Lee and Mandy King of Thomasville, granddaughters, Anna Burgess of Coolidge, Maggie Owens of Boston; great grandson, Lee Austin King; niece and husband, Barbara G. and Buddy Burk, nephew, Brian Griffin of New Jersey, nephew and wife, Dan and Diane Blow. A daughter Susan Renee Carroll preceded her in death. The family will receive friends from 7-9PM on Friday at the funeral home. Visitors may sign the online guest register at www.allenfh.com .
