Stamat Sampson

Funeral services for Stamat Sampson, 91, of Thomasville will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, September 15, 2014 at Victory Baptist Church. The Rev. Gary Holland will officiate and interment will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Sampson passed away on September 12, 2014 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born August 02, 1923 in Thomasville, he was the son of the late Stamat and Ella Mae Joiner Sampson. He was married to Lila Jean Ferguson Sampson, who preceded him in death. Mr. Sampson was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served in World War II. He also retired from AT&T He was a member of VFW, Elks Club, and Moose Lodge. He enjoyed fellowship and breakfast at the Plaza. Survivors include sons and daughters in law, Stamat C. and Lea Sampson of Thomasville, Russell L. and Teri Sampson of Thomasville, son Wesley F. Sampson of Thomasville and son and daughter in law Anthony C. and JoAnne Sampson of Boston. Surviving grandchildren include Danielle Sampson, Matthew Sampson, Mandy and Jason Moye, Kristy J. and Leon Kouyoumdjian, Sommer L. Sampson, Wesley F. Sampson, Jennifer Renee Sampson, Dixie J. and Jeff Prendergast, Kelsey E. Sampson and great grandchildren Landon Sampson, Hunter Sampson, Sampson and Leighton Moye.
