Graveside services for Sybil Smith Siegfried, 75, of Newcastle, Nevis and Winchester, Virginia are at 2:00PM on Thursday, August 19, 2004 at Enon Cemetery. The Rev. James Pelham will officiate. Mrs. Seigfried, who was originally from Coolidge died August 7, 2004 in Winchester. Born on July 13, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Homer Thomas Smith and Nora Hiers Smith of Coolidge. She graduated from Ochlocknee High School in 1946. She attended Abraham Baldwin College and graduated from the University of Georgia where she also received her Masters Degree. She served as a home economist with the University of Georgia Extension Service in Lowndes County before joining the Georgia 4-H Club staff, where she served as the first Camp Director at Rock Eagle 4-H Center. She was an International Farm Youth Exchange member to the Netherlands. She lived most of her adult life in Norristown, Pennsylvania where she was active in civic and gardening activities as well as activities involving her children. She moved to Nevis in 1991. Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Siegfried, Orlando, Florida; two sons, David Siegfried and wife Debbie of Winchester, VA, and Stephen Siegfried and wife Caroline of Torrington, Connecticut and five grandchildren, Audry, Jacob, Emma, Graham and Tomeka Siegfried. Local survivors include two brothers, Franklin Doris Smith and Travis Dorothy Smith of Coolidge and aunts, Katie Clark of Jacksonville, FL and Florine Smith on Coolidge. She was preceded in death by two brothers C. Jack Smith and Homer Thomas Smith, Jr. Tom. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your favorite charity.
