Father Jacek Szuster will officiate and interment is in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Sydney passed away June 3, 2008. Born on July 18, 2005, in Thomasville, GA, she was the daughter of Scott and Christina Blanton. Sydney is also survived by brothers Tyler & Hunter, Grandparents Max & Melissa Blanton, Allen & Judy Harden, Uncle Patrick Harden, Aunt Alaina & Uncle Matthew Bradshaw, cousin Alyssa Bradshaw, Aunts Shay & Brooke Blanton, Great-grandmother Myrtice Blanton, Aspen – her black lab, caregivers Ynez & Sonny Zapata, and many more extended family members who love her. She was named after her great grandfather, Sidney Harden.

Sydney Ann Blanton was a ray of sunshine to everyone she met. She would brighten your day with her big blue eyes and gleaming smile. She was so proud of her dimples and showed them off whenever she could. Sydney was such a brave little girl who made the most out of life. She knew what she wanted and usually got it. She was a pretty pink princess-ballerina, who made sure that she wore pink with every outfit. From pink casts and pink crocs, to pink fingernails this was her favorite color. Without anyone telling her what was impossible, she conquered many obstacles. Throughout this tragedy, it is more apparent than ever that she left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her family included Mrs. Ynez and Sonny Zapata and all the children from their house, her Angel Flight pilots, her Ronald McDonald House friends, Dr. Ponseti and her clubfoot friends, her Mommy's Group friends, her church family, and those she touched throughout the Thomasville community.

Sydney was her brother Tyler's pride and joy. He loved her with open arms from the day she came into the world. She was the little sister that every brother wanted to love, teach, and watch over. Sydney loved to play right by her brother's side. At night she would ask to go and lay in Tyler's bed. This meant that they were going to laugh and giggle for hours. Sydney used all that she had learned from Tyler to be the best big sister to Hunter. Hunter, her little brother, was her "boy". She was his little momma and playmate that was always there for him.

At the moment that I would open the door to pick her up, the sound of her voice, the look on her face, running, with arms wide open, was something that I will never forget. Without fail this was the way she greeted me and her dad no matter where she was. Her kisses would melt your heart, and her laugh will always be with me. She is my little sunshine and will warm my heart until the day that she is in my arms again.
