Tammie Evelyn Norene

June 5, 1969 — May 4, 2015

Tammie Evelyn Norene, age 45, died at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida, on Monday, May 4, 2015 after a three year battle with cancer.
Born June 5, 1969, in Fort Myers, Florida, to Lunora and George Piland, she spent much of her childhood in Valdosta, Georgia where she completed high school. Tammie went on to attend nursing school in Thomasville, Georgia before meeting and marrying the love of her life Robert Norene.
Together they traveled the world living in many different places -- including Tokyo, Japan, and Little Cressingham, England -- before settling in Navarre, Florida, where she worked in Physical Therapy and as a Licensed Massage Therapist.
Tammie approached life as a great adventure and lived it to the fullest. In addition to traveling she enjoyed cooking and “experimenting” with recipes. One of her favorite activates was walking the beach picking up seashells, especially at Sanibel Island. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially her grandson Jackson. But most of all she loved just being with her husband. They were practically inseparable and as long as they were together they were happy.
Tammie will be especially remembered for her strong faith, quick wit, wonderful sense of humor, and her loving and caring nature.
Survivors include her husband and best friend, Robert William Norene, and their children, Danielle Lea Burch and husband Bobby, Georgia Holly Griffis and husband Steven, and Aidan Mills Norene, her grandchildren Robert Jackson Griffis, and Georgianna Griffis; her mother Lunora Dean Delrossi and step-father Anthony; her siblings Donny Leonard Piland, Debbie Piland Southerland, and Kevin George Piland and wife Linda; and best friends Robin Morel, Shelby Emerson, and Tracy “T” Cambell.
Services will be held at on 10 a.m., Monday, May 11, at the Allen and Allen Funeral Home, 110 W Hansell St, Thomasville, Georgia.
Memorial contributions are welcome and should be made to the American Cancer Society.
We would also like to send our deepest appreciation and thanks to Dr Thomas Sunnenberg and Dr Leonardo Villegas and the wonderful oncological nursing staff at Sacred Heart.
