Born November 23, 1918 in Madison, SC she was the daughter of the late John Preston Arve and Martha Savannah Dunn Arve. She was married to Clyde Tate who preceded her in death. Mrs. Tate was Baptist and was retired after 25 years from Chicopee Manufacturing Company. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Beth and Warren Stafford of Thomasville, Susan and Bob Williams of Burgaw, NC, Rita and Ken Harrell of Clearwater, FL, granddaughters, Kathy and Danny MacQuirter of Thomasville, Cindy and Bill Riley of Salt Lake City, UT, grandsons, Jeff and Christina Williams of Burgaw, NC, Tim and Tasha Williams of Newberg, OR, granddaughter, Amber Lovell Ferguson and Sam Harben of Gainesville, GA; great grandchildren, Madeline MacQuirter, Gordon MacQuirter, Billy Riley, Katherine Riley, Syd Williams, Gavin Ferguson and Addison Ferguson.
