Thelma Christine West

Funeral services for Thelma Christine West, 77, of Thomasville, will be 2:00PM at Eastside Baptist Church on Saturday, November 7, 2015. Interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Pastor Danny Alford will officiate. Mrs. West passed away November 3, 2015 in Atlanta. Born October 5, 1938 in Irwin County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late George Felton and Mary Ola Young. On February 4, 1962 at Eastside Baptist Church, she married James Oren West, who survives. Mrs. West started working at the age of 16 at Dyess-Tidwell Studio as a photographer until her retirement in 2000. Survivors include son, James Mark West; daughter Rebecca West Davis and husband Michael; grandchildren Garrett West, Megan West, Josey West, Emily West, Nathan Davis, Kaitlin Stewart and Joseph Whigham; great grandchildren Jaye Paul Jones; brothers Ernest Young and George Young; sisters, Mary Young Plymel, Bettie Young Johnson, Ruby Young Carr and Ruthie Young Raper. She was preceded in death by son Paul Timothy West and siblings Thomas Young, Alvia Young and Rudine Young.
