Thomas Jefferson "Jeff" Benton

Rev. Thomas Jefferson “Jeff” Benton, age 73, died of natural causes on July 21, 2015, in Miramar Beach, Florida.

Jeff is survived by his two sons, Jeffrey T. (Angie) Benton, of Stockbridge, Georgia and Joel T. Benton (Christy Street), of McDonough, Georgia; and his two sisters, Patsy Benton Moore, of Lincolnton, North Carolina and Margie Benton (Bobby) Brewer High, of Lincolnton, North Carolina; and his one grandson and two granddaughters; and his many nieces and nephews.
Jeff is preceded in death by his two brothers-in-law, Ed Moore and Bud Brewer.

Jeff was born on December 28, 1941, in Thomasville, Georgia, to parents Thomas Joshua “Pat” Benton and Julia Claris Benton.

Jeff was an active man who was deeply involved in his church, Destiny Worship Center and Gateway Academy. He was a Godly man who put serving the Lord first. He thoroughly enjoyed working with children, photography and bicycling. He was known in the community as the man with the camera. He was the go-to photographer at his church and regularly posted his hobby work on his Facebook page, “My Street is a Beach”.

His funeral is scheduled for Monday, July 27, 2015, at the Destiny Worship Center 122 Poinciana Blvd, Miramar Beach, FL 32550. Viewing at 9am CT. Service at 10am CT.

His burial is scheduled for Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at the Ochlocknee City Cemetery in Ochlocknee, GA 31773. Graveside service at 2:30pm ET.
