Thomas Britt Ellis, Jr

Service for Thomas Britt Ellis, Jr, 85 of Thomasville will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Little Ochlocknee Baptist Church. Rev. Lee Waller will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Ellis passed away June 24, 2016 at Camellia Gardens. Born January 18, 1931 in Ochlocknee, he was the son of the late Thomas Britt Ellis, Sr and Ollie Rehberg Ellis. In 1951, in Miami, Florida he married Betty Jean Jensen Ellis who survives. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and owner of Ellis Horse Transportation. He loved gardening, animals, fishing and “peddling” his vegetables and sausage. Other survivors include his children, Susan Sangster and husband Jerry of Thomasville, Thomas W. Ellis of Jacksonville, Florida and Tawnya E. McNair and husband Tim of Brunswick; grandchildren, Shannon Sangster Stuckey and husband Jace, Stephanie Sangster Mackiewicz and husband Michael, Luke McNair and Adam McNair; great-grandchildren, Will Mackiewicz, Andee Mackiewicz, Rylee Mackiewicz, Elizabeth Stuckey and Aiden Stuckey; sister, Sherrill Humber and husband Brady of Buena Vista; brother, David Ellis and wife Gladys of Bainbridge and sisters-in-law, Opal Ellis of Ochlocknee and Jackie Ellis of Thomasville. He was preceded in death by brothers, Donnie Ellis and John R. Ellis and sister, Sarah Baggett. The family will receive friends from 2-3pm before the service at the church.
