Funeral services for Thomas Stockeland Nelson,of Thomasville, will be Wednesday, April 9, 2003 at 2:00 PM at the Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel.
Rev. Charles Neely will officiate and interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Nelson died on April 6 at his residence. The son of the late Cator F. and Estelle Collins Nelson, Mr. Nelson was born on June 20, 1931 in Grady Co. On Dec. 26, 1951, he married Lillie Poppell Nelson, who survives. Mr. Nelson retired from truck driving after 28 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Calvary Ga., and a Air Force veteran. Other survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Jackie Lynn and Timothy Parker; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard Earl and Leanell Nelson; 4 grandchildren, Jamie Marie Parker, Kimberly Lynn Parker, Christopher Thomas Nelson and Jessica Cathaleen Nelson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Gertrude Nelson McCall. The family will receive friends on Tuesday night from 7 to 9 at the Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel.
