Thomas Kenny T.K. Murphy

A memorial service for Thomas Kenny "T.K." Murphy, 60 of Heppner, OR are 2 pm, Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Heppner Christian Church. Mr. Murphy passed away Saturday, August 13, 2011 at his residence. Born April 12, 1951 in Tallahassee Fl, he was the son the late Lewis and Doris Matthews Murphy. He was raised and attended school in Thomasville where he graduated high school in 1969. On March 22, 1986 he married Carla E. Edwards in Lake Wales, Fl. The couple lived in Fairbanks, Alaska from 1986 to 2000. The then moved to the Eugene-Springfield, OR area before moving to Heppner in the spring of 2007. Murphy, as he was known to his friends, was pastor of Heppner Christian Church and also owned and operated Dark Horse Leather Goods in Heppner where he made or repaired items such as saddles, belts and bags. Leather work was more like a hobby for him but his real interest was in reading, studying and memorizing Gods Word. Survivors include wife Carla Murphy of Heppner, OR; sons, Benjamin Murphy and wife Alyssa of San Diego, CA, William Murphy and Matthew Murphy both of Heppner, OR; brother, Cary Murphy of Thomasville; sister, Connie Keith of Tifton and numerous nieces and nephews.
