Tilley Bashinski, age 87, of Decatur, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 5, 2012. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Ski Bashinski in 2002. She is survived by son, Howard S. Bashinski of Oak Creek, CO; daughter, Jane K. Bashinski of Tucker, GA; four grandchildren, Brina Ingraham of Alberta, Canada, Samantha Rabesa Eric of Steamboat Springs, CO, Caitlin Jacobson Ryan of Tucson, AZ; Hannah M. Hoffman of Tucker, GA; three great grandchildren, Jacen Rabesa, Isabella Rabesa, Nakkita Jacobson; niece, Helen Couch Jim of Tucker, GA; nephew, John Milledge Melanie of Georgia; and a host of many friends.
Tilley Bashinski was born in Thomasville, Georgia on June 17, 1924 to Blanche Isabel Miller Woodward and Roy Wiedman Woodward and graduated from Cairo High School. Tilley served as a professional administrative assistant for over 25 years with her husband Ski for the Georgia Funeral Directors Association, the Georgia Independent Automobile Dealer's Association, the Georgia Society of Association Executives, and the Surveying and Mapping Society of Georgia. She was a beloved colleague of many people across the State of Georgia and the country. Tilley was a devoted member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church where she was active in the Reachout-Revival Sunday School Class, Young At Heart Senior Ministry, and the Women's Tuesday Morning Bible Study Class. She also served on the Ridley Howard House Condo Association in Decatur. Tilley was a charming and elegant lady who will missed by her family and many friends, especially James "Jug" Adams.
The Service Celebrating the Life of Tilley Bashinski will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at 3:00 o'clock in the Chapel of the Mt. Carmel Christian Church, 6015 Old Stone Mountain Rd., Stone Mtn., GA 30087 with Mrs. Bashinski placed in state at the church at 2:30 P.M. Senior Minister Art Stansberry will officiate. Members of the above listed Church Groups, her friends from the Ridley Howard House, and the ladies from the Salon J. Christian in Stone Mountain will serve as Honorary Escort and are asked to assemble at the church on Saturday by 2:45 P.M. The family will receive friends on Friday from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be on Monday, June 11, 2012, at 1:00 P.M. at the Laurel Hill Cemetery, Thomasville, GA.
