Services for Tommy Eugene (Gene) Jones, Jr., 55, of Pavo, GA are at 11:00AM on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Roy Little will officiate and interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Born March 13, 1962 in Quitman, GA, he is the son of the late Tommy Eugene Jones, Sr and Alice Floyd Silveira of Perry, FL. On April 13, 1985 in Jacksonville, FL he married Tammy Morrison Jones who survives. Mr. Jones was a United States Postal Service carrier and a United States Army-Ranger and in the National Guard. He was a member of Dawson Street Baptist Church. Mr. Jones loved hunting, fishing, Auburn football, Disney World and tattoos. Other survivors include his daughter, Shelby Elizabeth Jones of Pavo, son, (Trey) Tommy Eugene Jones, III of Athens, GA, step-dad, Cornell Silveira of Perry, FL, sisters, Deana Carr of Jacksonville, FL and Susan Plott of Lexington, NC. He was preceded in death by his step-mother, Essie Jones. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, Atten: Memorial/Honor Program FH, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 300, Memphis, TN 38148-0552. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00PM on Monday at the funeral home.
