Tommy Mobley

Thomas "Tommy" Edward Mobley, 88, of Thomasville, GA, passed away on August 31, 2026. Born on July 4, 1938, in Cairo, GA, Thomas lived a life dedicated to family, community, and faith. He was the son of the late Jesse and Nellie Mobley.

 An active member of Dawson Street Baptist Church, Tommy taught Sunday school and led the Royal Ambassadors, sharing his passion for faith with younger generations. He cherished his time in the men's Sunday school class and the bonds formed with fellow members. 

For over 60 years, Tommy was an active and dedicated member of the Thomasville High School Booster Club, where he showcased his love for THS high school sports. He was also a fan of the TCCHS softball team. His love for athletics extended to coaching youth baseball through the YMCA, where he co-founded the Colt League baseball program, enriching the lives of countless young athletes.

Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Voncile Mobley; children Todd Mobley (Jennifer) of Thomasville, Keith Mobley (Jen) of Thomasville, and Cile Teehee (Jeff) of Thomasville; grandchildren Hannah Edwards (Tommy), Sam Teehee (Mia), Mac Mobley, Laney Mobley, Mackenzie Mobley Davidson, Mason Mobley (Catherine Senne), Jacob Jordan, and David Lee Jordan; great-grandchild L.J. Davidson and sister-in-law Gail Mobley.

The family would like to give special thanks to Mr. Mobley's caregiver, Latoya Brown, and to Dr. Daryl Crenshaw and Quail City Dialysis, as well as Dr Beth Geer and the Indigo Family Health for their great care through the years.

A service will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 10 am at Dawson Street Baptist Church with Reverend Lee Waller, Dr Daryl Crenshaw, and Keil Angry officiating. The family will receive friends from 5- 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Allen & Allen Funeral Home. Tommy will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jeff Rayburn, Thomas Rayburn, Andrew Rayburn, Charles Law, Ken Stringer, and Bill Giles.
