Tony Mitchell

Memorial service for Tony Mitchell, 67, of Thomasville will be held 11AM, Friday, January 17 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Tony passed away peacefully on January 13, 2025 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. Born June 17, 1957 in Atlanta, Tony was the son of Sara Stanaland, who survives and Larry Thomas Mitchell, who preceded him in death. On August 4, 1990, Tony married Belinda Cashwell in Quitman. Tony loved to go fishing at his home in Suwannee, Florida. He was known as being the grill master by his family and friends. He enjoyed sitting on his back porch with his wife watching westerns, football, and Nascar. Tony loved to spend his Saturday nights watching his George Strait DVD. Tony is survived by his wife, Belinda; son, Eric Mitchell (Ashley) of Thomasville; daughters, Anslie Smith (Paul) of Savannah, Jennifer Herrmann (Philip) of Cairo, Taylor Watson (Jeremy) Thomasville; grandchildren; Madelynn Mitchell, John Thomas Mitchell, Paisley Herrmann, Ellie Watson, Peyton Thurman and Phil Thurman; brother, Ivan Mitchell (Jennifer); sister, Lynn Nichols (Joe); mother and father, Sara and Sonny Stanaland and his dog, Rosie. He was preceded in death by his brother Steve Mitchell. The family would like to send their thanks to the nurses and staff at the Emory University Hospital on the Neuroscience ICU for caring for Tony. The family will receive family and friends one hour before the service.
