Ty Anthony Deese, 44, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Carrollton, Ga., on November 16, 2007. Ty was born August 9, 1963 in Dothan, Ala., the son of George and Glenda Deese of Thomasville, Ga. He is survived by his parents, his daughters Taylor Deese, 15, and Sara Deese, 13, and their mother Angela Highsmith Deese.

A successful businessman, Ty was well-respected by his co-workers and business associates. He worked for Flowers Foods for 26 years. While in college, he began working in sales for the company and was successively promoted to positions of greater responsibility at different Flowers subsidiaries. He was named president of Flowers Baking Co. in Villa Rica, Ga., in 2002.

He was devoted to his family and his company and attended Midway Baptist Church in Villa Rica. Ty inspired others to do their best and used his life experiences to guide and encourage others.

In addition to his commitment to his family, friends, and job, he enjoyed the outdoors throughout his life. He took special pleasure in being near the water and was an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed hunting.

He also is survived by his brother Todd Deese and his wife Angie of Melbourne, Fla.; his sister Dawn Deese Mulford and her husband Chris of Thomasville; his brother Rodney Deese and his wife Beth of Thomasville; eight nieces and nephews; and many other close relatives and friends.
Preceding Ty in death were daughters Courtney Lynn, Ashley Elizabeth, and Katie Marie and grandparents Carlton and Doris Deese and Wyatt and Carrie Edmonson.

The Deese family will receive family and friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 19 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home in Thomasville. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 20 at the First Baptist Church in Thomasville. The burial service will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Thomasville.

The family has requested that no flowers be sent. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Ty Deese to the Mayo Foundation, 4500 San Pablo Road, Jacksonville, FL 32224. Visitors may sign the online guest register at www.allenfh.com
