Services for Verma Ruth Crosby Peters, 68 of Thomasville are 11:00 am, Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Gary Conger will officiate and interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are Wesley Gillis, Wayne Gillis, Robert Carden, Derek Walker and Rev. Gary Conger. Mrs. Peters died April 25, 2009 at Crisp Regional Hospital. Born February 18, 1941 in Colquitt County, she was the daughter of the late Nelson W. Crosby and Mary Katherine Newton Crosby. She was married to Aaron D. Peters, who precedes her in death on January 29, 2003. Survivors include sisters, Mary Kathleen Casteel, Esma Nadine Ruff, nieces, Patsy Singletary and husband Jimmy and Rachel Conger and husband Rev. Gary Conger, grandchildren, Chuck Boyd of Moultrie, Amy Long of Leesburg, Damaris Collier, Daniel Peters and Hannah Peters all of Elijah, Ga. She was also preceded in death by her son, Alvin Pete Peters in 2001. The family will receive friends 6-8, Tuesday at the funeral home. Guests may sign the online guest register at www.allenfh.com
