Vernon W. Brinson

Services for Vernon W. Brinson, Sr., 72 of McDonough, formally of Thomasville will be held at 4:00 pm, Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Trinity Baptist Church. Pastor Jeff Watkins and Rev. Gene Vinson will officiate. Mr. Brinson passed away May 16, 2013 at Piedmont Henry Hospital in Stockbridge. Born November 3, 1940 in Thomasville, he was the son of the late Elzie A. Brinson and Ruby D. Johnson Brinson. His wife of 30 years, Rose L. Bufford Brinson preceded him in death. Mr. Brinson was the warehouse manager for Canada Dry for many years and was a lifelong member of Trinity Baptist Church but attended New Covenant Church in McDonough. Mr. Brinson was a veteran of the United States Army. He is survived by his children, Vernon W. Brinson, Jr and wife Lisa of Jacksonville, Donna Hatcher and husband Harry of Stockbridge and Dawn McKown and husband Jake of McDonough; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Thornton and husband Marcus of Ochlocknee and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of kids and adults that he loved as his own. He was preceded in death by brothers, Gene Brinson, JT Brinson and sister, Joyce Johns. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm, Saturday, May 18 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
